Groups
Handel House welcomes groups during our normal opening hours, including weekends. Handel House is a beautifully restored Georgian townhouse, a very special intimate space, and we can accommodate groups of up to 20 per visit. Larger groups can be accommodated if split into smaller groups with staggered tours.
Group visits consist of a guided tour of Handel House with one of our specialist volunteer guides, and can include a visit to nearby St. George's Church, where Handel played the organ. Groups arriving by coach can be met by the guide at Hanover Square. Visits can be adapted to a particular theme to suit the interests of the group e.g. 18th century London, Handel's music, Georgian Interiors.
We offer exclusive and private live music recitals as part of the group visit. Music brings Handel House to life, and leaves the visitor with a lasting memory. Each recital lasts around 30 minutes, with the performers introducing each item, and takes place in our intimate Rehearsal & Performance Room where Handel himself entertained his guests.
Groups can choose from the following recital options:
- Solo harpsichord
- Harpsichord and one singer (soprano or counter-tenor)
- Harpsichord and two singers (soprano or counter-tenor)
The recommended time for a group visit to Handel House, including some free-time to browse at leisure, is 2 hours (with music) or 90 minutes (without).
